[TinyLogin] Can't login

Hello all,

I'm a newb when it comes to tinylogin, so please have patience.

I'm trying to get tinylogin working with uClinux on a M5272. I've upgraded
the tinylogin that came with uClinux distribution from 0.80 to 1.4. After a
fair amount of struggling I managed to get to all compile and I can download
it into the 5272 board. I've tried creating symbolic links from the /etc
directory to /var directory for the passwd, shadow and group files. I've
also tried putting the passwd, group and shadow files from my development
system into the /etc/ directory. Both of the above had the same results,
which is the following.
When the 5272 board comes up, it comes up in a SASH shell. I type login. I
get "uClinux login:" I enter the user name, and there it sits until I reset
it. If I telnet into the board, I get "uClinux login:" I enter a username,
it prompts for "password:", I give it the password and then it fails with
login incorrect. I obviously have something configured wrong, but I have no
idea what. Can anybody give me some suggestions on what I might be doing
wrong, or where to look for more info. I've searched through the archives,
but couldn't find anything on this.

Thanks very much,

Barry
